WEIGHTED VEIL WORKSHOP with Zamira

1:00-3:00 pm Basic
3:00-4:00 pm Beyond Basic

Location: Routhier Community Centre, 172 Guigues Street, Ottawa
Parking available off-street. OCTranspo buses stop within 1 block

You will receive instruction on all the techniques and skills required to
use weighted veils in your favourite choreography. From basic movements to
complex combinations, incorporating dance movement with the dynamic
movement of the veils. Weighted veils are rapidly becoming the prop of
choice for many dancers wishing to achieve a more dramatic effect in dance
or to add a new visual element.

Cost for the first 2 hours, 1:00-3:00: $30.00 up to March 6th, $35 after.
Buy a set of veils in advance and get the workshop for $25 (must register
by 6 March 2010)

The 3rd hour, 2:00-3:00, is for students to develop ideas for choreography
and freestyle performances. The cost will be $15 and there must be at
least 4 participants.

Fun with Cane/Stick and Zills with Isaden

Location: Routhier Community Center 2nd Floor Room Page (172 Guigues St., Ottawa)

Time: 1-4 pm
Maximum Spaces Available: 12

Learn basic cane/stick movements and basic zills. Then learn how to combine the two props together for fun and challenge in some movement combinations.

Cost: $25 before March 6
$30 after March 7

If you don’t have a cane/stick and/or zills please let me know. I will have some spares available for the day.

We will once again be partying and raising funds for great causes.

The party will be at the Legion hall at the corner of McLaren and Kent (lots of parking).
The doors (and the bar) open at 7 pm. The party starts at 8 pm. Food will be served from 9 pm till close!
Everyone is invited to dance: soloists, groups, troupes,bunches….out-of-towners are welcome again.

Tickets are $25 in advance….$30 at the door

This workshop is for anyone wanting to live a more creative life!

Maybe you are looking for a new hobby or a new way to express yourself. If so, give yourself the gift of time and join us for 8 evenings of self-discovery and fun.

Julia Cameron’s classic text, The Artist’s Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity, will form the basis for this course. Come explore the keys to unlocking greater creativity in your life. You’ll learn how to dismantle emotional blocks to creativity, including conflicts involving personal relationships, preconceived notions about success, concerns about money, and doubts about your own abilities.
